New Gas Fireplace, 2003
|
Earlier this year (at the beginning of the summer, unfortunately), I had a gas fireplace installed as my home's primary heat source. My house is only 900 square feet, and the fireplace is supposed to be able to heat ~800. I still have baseboard heat in the kitchen and bedrooms, but I doubt I'll use them at all. So far, I'm finding the heat to be more than adequate, and I guess it's my (relatively) new windows that make the house stay warmer longer. The fireplace is connected to a thermostat, so all I have to do to get it going is set the temperature. My other little project this year was to paint the interior of the built-in bookshelf the same color as the walls (it was formerly white). Things just look much better when displayed against a background that blends into its surroundings. |
