2 1/25/04 Living Out Seattle Repertory Theatre (Seattle Rep) Interesting & topical.
3 2/14/04 Balanchine Centenary Pacific Northwest Ballet (PNB)

Repertory program consisting of:
Divertimento No. 15 (Mozart): Very classical
Agon (Stravinsky): Extremely interesting & innovative dancing, but the music didn't do much for me.
Brahms-Schoenberg Quartet: Excellent all around.
4 2/28/04 Ariadne Auf Naxos Seattle Opera Excellent. Jane Eaglen stepped into the Ariadne role a week prior to opening night, and seemed flawless. Zerbenietta seems like (literally) an impossible role to sing, and the woman who did it was quite amazing. I would imagine it's the rare singer who can get all the color & artistry in the role, plus, she has to sing & sustain a high E.
5 2/29/04 The Time of Your Life Seattle Rep Good, different. A lot of story lines were weaving together in some hard-to-follow ways. A few people left at intermission, which was too bad, as it all sort of wrapped up and made a lot more sense in the end.
6 3/21/04 The Romantics PNB

Good mixed rep. It was quite lengthy, but didn't feel that way, which is always nice!

7 4/24/04 Carmina Burana PNB Just so amazingly good. They also performed "Serenade"
8 4/25/04 Ain't Nothing But the Blues Seattle Rep Excellent music performed by excellent musicians.
9 5/1/04 A Midsummer Night's Dream Seattle Shakespeare Company The 50's version, which I remember seeing at the Bathhouse Theater when I was in high school. Fun.
10 5/2/04 Crowns Intiman Theatre Very good, based on a book of photographs and stories about African American women in their church hats. (Not something I would have thought could be adapted!)
11 5/8/04 The Girl of the Golden West Seattle Opera Fine, if a bit dated. An interesting Italian take on the American West.
12 6/13/04 The Play's the Thing Intiman   
13 6/27/04 Studio Recital Olympic View Community Church I sang three Spanish songs, "E amore un ladroncello" from "Cosi fan tutte", and "Habanera" from Carmen.
14 8/20/04 The Singing Forest Intiman Powerful, excellently done.
15 8/21/04 Lohengrin Seattle Opera Wagner wasn't one for short little operas, but the music and singing were just fantastic. Lohengrin is an incredibly annoying person, though.

18 9/5/04 Huskies vs. Fresno State Husky Stadium Depressing. We had no QB, no kicking. The defense looked pretty good, though.
19 9/15/04 Seattle Opera Preview Town Hall, Seattle Perry Lorenzo, the education director for Seattle Opera, does an incredible job of previewing the plots and illustrating what to listen for.
20 9/18/04 Huskies vs. UCLA Husky Stadium This time, we had a QB and kicking, but no defense. If we'd stopped even one 80-yard rush, we'd have won.
21 10/2/04 Romeo & Juliet PNB Well done, although I'm not sure I buy Patricia Barker as the 14-year-old Juliet.
22 10/9/04 Huskies vs. San Jose State Husky Stadium The season's first (and only) win.
23 10/10/04 Our Town Intiman Good. I'd never seen it before.
24 10/17/04 Anna in the Tropics Seattle Rep Play about the lector in a small cigar factory reading "Anna Karenina" to the workers and the resulting tensions & passions.
25 10/30/04 Rigoletto Seattle Opera I thought this one was pretty darn good.
26 11/6/04 Huskies vs. Arizona Husky Stadium Why does Paus persist in throwing sidearm?
27 11/13/04 Huskies vs. Cal Husky Stadium Our special teams suck!
28 11/13/04 Balanchine Program PNB A little staid, I thought.
29 11/19/04 REM McCaw Hall Thought the opening act, musically, were a mess, although REM were very supportive of them. Michael Stipe gets more hip and more energetic every year.
30 11/21/04 Take Me Out Seattle Rep A baseball superstar comes out, and his team deals with it. Great play.
